PoCo Ravens U18B have success in the US

We began the weekend with a win against Kaboom jumping out to a 3 – 1 lead before adding 4 more in the 3rd. Kaboom added 2 in the 3rd and 2 more in the 5th but as we were home team and ahead we did not get our last bats winning 7-5 with Brooke pitching a complete game. Our next two games had us struggling with our bats first against Port Angeles Illusion with our first run coming from Shaylynn on a well hit ball by Jane the only other run was scored by Lindsey who pitched 4 and a bit innings. We lost that one 9 – 2. Our third game of the day saw us play the Diamond Dusters where we struggled against their slower pitcher scoring only 1 run by Lindsey on an RBI by Shaylynn. Brooke was on the mound for the loss 6-1. Heading into Sun we found ourselves in the Silver Bracket facing Mayhem we trailed early down 3-0 after two innings. Kara and Aman both scored runs in the third to get us started, the sixth inning saw us open things up scoring 7 runs and batting through almost the whole order. Mayhem tried to make a comeback in the final inning but we were able to hold them off with the tying run on 3rd base Brooke got the final out by her third strikeout of the inning after coming in to relieve Lindsey in the sixth. The final had us facing the Boston Babes as the away team we hit first and finally we had our bats going, we scored 7 runs with RBI’s from Lindsey, Jane, Alexa, and Claire. It was a lead that the Boston Babes could not come close to as they managed just 3 runs and we added 1 in the second, 2 in the fourth and 2 more in the fifth for a final of 12-3. We also saw Alexa almost score a home run on a bunt so close!
