Learn To Play

Our Purpose:

The purpose of this program is to introduce in a fun, energetic and interesting way the key basic skills of throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and running, which are so necessary for the enjoyment of this great game of softball. By focusing on introducing the basic skills in an interactive and engaging way and not on the confusing rules of the game, for first time players, maximizes the time and opportunity each player has to develop their abilities to participate and enjoy the game as they grow.

Key Points about "Learn To Play" Program

• Program Starts April 10th and ends June 19th
• All Sessions are at one park (to be determined)
• Eighteen sessions, every Tuesday and Thursday (6:30 – 7:30 pm)
• All participants play at the same time, on the same field
• Minimum 4 stations of different skill developing fun drills (rotating every 10-15 minutes)
• Small groups with a minimum eight players to one coach ratio to maximize instruction time.
• Four sessions at the end of the season begin to introduce game’s structure and rules (in preparation for playing the traditional team play next year)
• Medal Ceremony held after Fun day at Wind Up Tournament June 25th
